Engaged by a newly established Speciality Pharma with circa $200m turnover and a Head Office Senior Leadership Team of only 12, Dowsett Partners team of 3 consultants, working on an average of only 12 days per month managed the entire process and filled over 35 positions, across all functions and seniority in the company, cascading down each function, focusing on their priority roles. We were seen as an integral part of the leadership team and eventually hired the permanent HR team before exiting. Hiring ahead of the recruitment plan, the overall saving in recruitment fees to our client was greater than £500,000.
A preclinical Biotech with offices in Europe and USA preparing for Series C funding and entering phase II, had spent +£1m in recruitment fees with third-party recruiters in 2019. Engaged in 2020, we reduced the spend with external suppliers by over 90% whilst still delivering the ambitious recruitment plan. Hiring through Covid lockdowns, the key to our success was the level of trust and engagement we remotely built with candidates and the speed and quality of hires we achieved.
Our client had used traditional recruitment techniques and agencies for four years and had failed to hire the minimum of 6 Analytical Chemists required by the business across all levels. Dowsett Partners were engaged for a total of only 20 days to deliver as many candidates as possible, with 6 hires considered by the client as a benchmark for success. We identified a longlist of 165 candidates that met their specific and very tight criteria. These were all approached by Dowsett Partners, which resulted in 24 being selected for interview by the client, with 13 offers made to candidates and a further 6 held in reserve to be offered positions at the earliest opportunity

Leading the team on every search is Graham Dowsett with 20 plus year’s experience. Graham has been a Director at two leading specialist Life Science Executive Search firms and has led their expansion into the USA changing them from a Regional to a Global Practice. His experience also includes leading senior level Executive Search consulting and research teams in both the UK and USA and in addition he has an extensive network across Biotech, Pharma and MedTech. He possesses an expertise in recruiting and assessing senior executives, with a strong track record at Director level, through to Board and NEDs. Prior to that, he held Senior Global Marketing and Commercial roles in Big Pharma and was Director of Business Development and Licensing for a UK based Biotech.
